WB-Dial Configuration

   Dial-up settings

Windows 98 Setup

To install and configure the modem, start from the Windows desktop and select the 'Start' button, then 'Settings' and 'Control Panel'.

1)

Double-click on 'My Computer' and then 'Dial-up Networking'.

Double click the 'Make New Connection' icon.

3)

A dialogue box will open which will welcome you to the Network Connection Wizard, click 'next'.

Type a name for your new connection, such as 'WB-Dial'. Select your installed modem from the 'select a device' drop
down menu and click 'next'.

5)

Type in 08451231774 into the 'Telephone number' box (leave area code blank) and select 'United Kingdom' from the 'Country or region' drop down menu, and click next.

6)

Click 'Finish'.

7)

To use your new WB-Dial Internet connection, double click the 'WB-Dial' icon.

8)

Type in your 'username' (e.g. bcc000000) and your 'password' (e.g. verify) and select the 'Save password' box and click 'connect'. You will now be connected to your WB-Dial connection. If you have forgotten your username and/or password, please refer to your WB-Dial welcome e-mail, or alternatively contact WB-Dial




The following instructions explain how to setup an e-mail account using Microsoft Outlook Express.

Double click the 'Microsoft Outlook Express' icon on your desktop.

A window will open welcoming you to the MSN Internet Access Wizard, and click 'next'.

Click the 'LAN/Manual' button, which will open a new wizard box..

Select 'Connect using my phone line', and click 'next'.

13)

Select 'Use an existing dial-up connection', and choose 'WB-Dial' from the menu, and click 'next'.

14)

Select 'No' on the following screen, and click 'next'.

15)

Select 'Yes' to 'Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now?', and click 'next'.
16)

Type in your name in the 'Display name' box, and click 'next'.
17)

Type in your e-mail address (e.g. joeb@wbdial.co.uk) in the 'E-mail address' box and click 'next'. If you have forgotten your e-mail address, please refer to your WB-Dial welcome e-mail, or alternatively contact WB-Dial

18)

Select 'POP3' as the 'incoming mail server' type in the drop down menu.

19)

Type 'mail.wbdial.co.uk' as the 'Incoming mail server address'.

20)

Type 'mail.wbdial.co.uk' as the 'Outgoing mail server address'.

21)

Type in your 'username' (e.g. bcc000000) and your 'password' (e.g. verify), and select the 'Remember password' box, and click 'next'. If you have forgotten your username and/or password, please refer to your WB-Dial welcome e-mail, or alternatively contact WB-Dial

22)

Click 'Finish'.

  To use your new WB-Dial Internet connection, click the Windows Start menu, select Settings, select Dial-up Networking and double click the WB-Dial icon.
